Job summary

Mesa County in Grand Junction, CO seeks an experienced heavy equipment operator to perform full-time road and right-of-way maintenance. You will operate motor graders, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment, often in remote areas, with duties including training and directing others as a lead worker.

Responsibilities include repairs, concrete work, backfill, pipe installation, and collaboration with local agencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of related experience.
• CDL Class A - Tanker Endorsement (endorsement can be obtained after hire).
• State Flagger Certification (can be attained after hire).
• Brake Certification (can be attained after hire).

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy, complex equipment and perform road/bridge construction tasks.
• Lead worker responsibilities including training and directing others.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Mow, edge, and perform right-of-way maintenance.
• Clear culverts and perform digging and backfill work as directed.
• Assist with traffic control at road construction sites.
