Job summary

Meridian Waste seeks an Operator – Heavy Equipment at our Lunenburg facility in Virginia. The role involves safe operation of heavy equipment to transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil, ensuring efficiency and safety at the site.

Responsibilities include pre/post inspections, routine maintenance, and accurate reporting. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and OSHA-regulated site experience is preferred. Outdoor, physical work is expected.

• Follow company safety policies and maintain safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment per company policy.
• Safely operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader, etc.).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure site safety.
• Perform minor mechanical service and report repairs to maintenance.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required documentation.
