Job summary

Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12- Special Projects seeks an Equipment Operator to perform skilled operation of heavy machinery for grounds and construction. You will grade fields, haul materials, and assist with building or remodeling projects, performing preventive maintenance, and supervising lower-level staff as lead worker.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years of experience, a Virginia Class A CDL, and certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2–3 years of experience operating heavy motorized equipment.
• Virginia Class A CDL required; State Category 60 Registered Technician certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy tractors and trailers to haul equipment and materials.
• Grade fields and roads with motor grader; spread gravel, woodchips, mulch, dirt, and concrete.
• Lead worker; provide guidance and supervision to other operators.
• Assist in construction/maintenance of buildings, athletic fields, and plumbing/irrigation tasks.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment.
