Job summary

Mortenson seeks an Operator Foreman to manage and operate heavy equipment per project and regulatory requirements. The role includes directing a crew of operators, ensuring safety compliance, and coordinating with project plans to meet schedules.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, routine maintenance, and coaching team members, with a focus on quality and efficiency on site. This on-site role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of related experience.
• Equipment certifications.
• Valid drivers license with necessary endorsements.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and read safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to work independently and with others; strong communication.
• Lift up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, and roller.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Perform routine maintenance and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and adjust sequences to meet schedules.
• Assist in scheduling and estimating worker-hour requirements; solve work problems.
• Ensure crew timecards are filled; supervise, coordinate, and direct operators.
• Lead by example, provide coaching and feedback, manage performance.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
