Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Operator Foreman responsible for operating heavy equipment in compliance with Mortenson safety policies. The foreman will plan, organize, and direct operators based on project and state/federal requirements.

The role involves supervising the crew, ensuring adherence to work plans, and coordinating with project leaders. Requirements include equipment certifications, two years of related experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of related equipment operation experience.
• Equipment certifications required.
• Valid driver’s license with endorsements as required by law.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment as directed and specified.
• Plan, organize, and direct operators based on project needs and requirements.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and detect malfunctions.
• Schedule and estimate worker-hours; resolve work problems.
• Supervise, coordinate, and direct the work of operators; provide coaching and feedback.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
