West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) seeks an experienced Transportation Worker 3 Equipment Operator to support highway construction and maintenance across the state from Upshur County. You will operate heavy equipment, perform minor in-field repairs, and maintain equipment while potentially leading junior operators.

Overnight/out-of-state travel may be required. Preference may be given to those with CDL Class A/B and four years of heavy equipment experience.

Competenze

Knowledge of safety practices used in structural steel construction.
Knowledge of the procedures, techniques, and equipment used in the area of assignment.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and applicable safety standards and procedures in the area of assignment.
Knowledge of basic blueprint reading.
Knowledge of general construction and maintenance practices.

Mansioni

Operates heavy motorized vehicles and highway maintenance equipment.
Makes minor mechanical repairs in the field such as changing tires, blades, or filters.
Maintains equipment and checks fluid levels.
Oversees loading/unloading and transporting equipment around the state.
Leads or trains lower-level equipment operators.
Travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is required.
