Job summary

Mesa County is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join the Road and Bridge team in Grand Junction, CO. This full-time role involves operating and maintaining complex machinery, performing concrete work, and leading crews in remote areas.

CDL-A endorsements can be obtained after hire; safety and communication are essential. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with at least 3 years of related experience.
• Licenses and Certifications may be obtained after hire: Class A CDL Tanker Endorsement, State Flagger Certification, Brake Certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy/complex equipment used for road and right-of-way work.
• Lead worker responsibilities including training, directing work, and reporting issues to supervisor.
• Coordinate with local towns, BLM, and Forest Service under Road and Bridge policies.
