Zusammenfassung

Mesa County is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to perform complex road and bridge maintenance in remote areas. You will drive and operate multiple machines, train crew, and coordinate with other agencies as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of related experience. A CDL with tanker endorsement can be obtained after hire, and positions may require 24-hour on-call availability.

Aufgaben

• Operate and drive heavy, complex equipment to repair, maintain, or clear roads, fields and rights-of-way.
• Lead worker responsibilities including training, assigning and directing work, and reporting problems to supervisor.
• Make day-to-day decisions in isolated areas and coordinate with outside entities like towns, BLM, and Forest Service.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment (oil/ fluids, tires, belts) and operate safety procedures.
• Construct and repair roads, culverts, bridges, guardrails and other structures as directed.
• Assist with traffic control at road construction sites and ensure proper operation of gear.
