Job summary

Cogent Analytics seeks a Heavy-Duty Diesel Shop Manager to lead a satellite repair facility serving dedicated fleet maintenance. You will supervise two technicians, diagnose repair needs, assist with service orders, and ensure efficient shop operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong knowledge of heavy-duty diagnostics (Cummins, PACCAR, Snap-on, JPRO) and hands-on leadership. Standard hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM with flexibility for operational needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Driver’s License.
• Experience in heavy-duty diesel repair with diagnostic abilities.
• Leadership or shop management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck diagnostics (OEM software).
• Familiarity with Snap-on, JPRO and similar diagnostic platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the satellite shop location and maintain a fully staffed team of two active technicians.
• Provide hands-on leadership by diagnosing repair needs and assisting technicians with service orders.
• Coordinate the daily shop schedule and workflow to ensure efficient service operations.
• Monitor technician productivity and shop performance to meet company benchmarks.
• Maintain quality control standards and ensure all work meets company and industry expectations.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic platforms and industry-standard tools (Cummins, PACCAR, Snap-on, JPRO).
• Manage shop inventory levels and arrange parts as required.
• Communicate regularly with leadership regarding shop performance and improvements.
