Job summary

Cogent Analytics seeks a Heavy-Duty Diesel Shop Manager to lead operations at a satellite repair facility. You will diagnose repairs, guide technicians, and ensure efficient service with a two-person team in a two-bay shop.

Ideal candidates have strong heavy-duty diagnostic skills, leadership experience, and familiarity with Cummins, PACCAR, Snap-on, and JPRO platforms. A Class A license is preferred, with a 7:30 AM–5:30 PM schedule. Drug tests may apply.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A driver's license preferred.
• Experience diagnosing heavy-duty diesel repairs and complex mechanical/electrical issues.
• Prior leadership or shop management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty diagnostics including Cummins and PACCAR.
• Familiarity with OEM platforms and diagnostic tools Snap-on, JPRO, or similar.
• Ability to manage workflow, technicians, and shop productivity in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.
• Willingness to work a 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the satellite shop and maintain two active technicians.
• Provide hands-on leadership by diagnosing repair needs and assisting technicians.
• Coordinate the daily shop schedule and workflow for efficiency.
• Monitor technician productivity and shop performance to meet benchmarks.
• Maintain quality control standards and ensure work meets expectations.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic platforms and tools (Cummins, PACCAR, Snap-on, JPRO).
• Manage shop inventory and order special-order parts as needed.
• Communicate performance and improvement opportunities to leadership.
