Job summary

Cogent Analytics is seeking a Heavy-Duty Diesel Shop Manager to lead operations at a satellite repair facility in New Jersey. The role requires hands-on leadership to diagnose repairs and assist technicians, ensuring efficient completion of service orders and strong shop performance.

The facility services front-loaded cement mixers and tri-axle dump trucks, staffed by two technicians and a manager when fully staffed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A driver’s license preferred.
• Experience in heavy-duty diesel repair and diagnosing complex issues.
• Leadership or shop management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck diagnostics and OEM software.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the satellite shop with two active technicians.
• Diagnose repair needs and assist technicians with service orders.
• Coordinate daily shop schedule and workflow for efficiency.
• Monitor technician productivity and shop performance to meet benchmarks.
• Maintain quality control and ensure industry-standard workmanship.
• Manage inventory and order parts to maintain workflow.
• Communicate shop performance and improvement opportunities to leadership.
