Job summary

Cogent Analytics seeks a Heavy-Duty Diesel Shop Manager to lead operations at a satellite repair facility focused on dedicated fleet maintenance. You will diagnose repairs, guide technicians, and ensure efficient shop performance for heavy-duty trucks, mixers, and related equipment.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong diagnostics skills, and coordinating daily workflows. A Monday–Friday schedule (~7:30 AM–5:30 PM) with flexibility and a strong emphasis on quality control are expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership to diagnose repairs and assist technicians.
• Experience in heavy-duty diesel repair with diagnostic abilities.
• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck diagnostics.
• Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software such as Cummins and PACCAR.
• Experience with diagnostic platforms like Snap-on and JPRO.
• Ability to manage workflow and shop productivity in a fast-paced service environment.
• Valid Class A Driver’s License preferred.
• Reliable, punctual schedule (7:30 AM - 5:30 PM) and compliance with drug/alcohol policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the satellite shop and maintain a two-technician team.
• Provide hands-on leadership by diagnosing repair needs and assisting technicians with service orders.
• Coordinate daily shop schedule and workflow for efficient service operations.
• Monitor technician productivity and shop performance to meet benchmarks.
• Maintain quality control standards and ensure work meets company and industry expectations.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic platforms and industry-standard tools (Cummins, PACCAR, Snap-on, JPRO).
• Manage shop inventory levels and organize tools and equipment.
• Order special-order parts and communicate with leadership on performance and improvements.
