Job summary

The Caton Construction Group, part of The Caton Companies, seeks a seasoned Project Manager for multiple North Carolina projects based in Cary. You will lead heavy civil highway initiatives, coordinate design and field teams, and ensure safety and quality.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years of civil heavy/highway experience, a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and proficiency with HeavyJob, BlueBeam and P6. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of civil heavy/highway project experience.
• Experience with HeavyJob, BlueBeam, and P6 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and formulate civil construction projects according to requirements and standards.
• Manage project budget and margins; submit cost/profit projections and adjust as needed.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with realistic timelines.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with engineering principles and contract specs.
• Enforce safety policies and foster a culture of Incident and Injury Free on site.
• Create and maintain project documentation and reporting for upper management.
• Collaborate with field management to resolve schedule and execution issues.
• Approve subcontractors and supplier purchase orders; manage subcontractor performance.
• Conduct weekly team meetings and review scheduling and costs.
• Monitor financial projections and submit timely payment requisitions.
