Job summary

Caton Construction Group, a member of The Caton Companies, seeks a Heavy Civil Project Manager for multiple NC projects. The role is based in our Cary office and requires leading a team to deliver complex highway construction with a focus on safety, quality, and profitability.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in civil heavy/highway work, strong communication skills, and experience with project controls. Travel is primarily local; drivers license required; full-time position with competitive

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years on civil heavy/highway projects required.
• Knowledge of HeavyJob, BlueBeam, and P6 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage civil construction projects per requirements and standards.
• Control budgets and margins; prepare cost/income projections for project profitability.
• Develop and update project schedules with realistic timelines.
• Ensure quality control per engineering principles, standards, and specs.
• Maintain all project documentation and communications; prepare reports for leadership.
• Collaborate with field management to resolve issues between plan and site execution.
• Approve equipment or personnel changes requested by superintendents.
• Conduct weekly project team meetings and financial projections.
