Job summary

Caton Construction Group is seeking a seasoned Heavy Civil Project Manager for the Richmond, Virginia area. The ideal candidate will manage heavy highway projects, budget, schedule, and safety protocols, delivering projects on time and within budget.

This role requires 5+ years of civil heavy/highway project experience and knowledge of HeavyJob, BlueBeam, and P6 is a plus. Travel and local work in the Richmond region are expected; driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Not an entry-level role; requires demonstrable project management experience.
• 5+ years on civil heavy/highway projects required.
• Knowledge of HeavyJob, BlueBeam, and P6 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and formulate civil construction projects according to requirements and standards.
• Manage project budget and ensure margins; produce cost/income projections.
• Develop and update project schedules with realistic timetables.
• Ensure site safety policies and incident-free protocols are followed.
• Create and maintain project documentation and reports for upper management.
• Collaborate with field management to resolve issues between plan and site execution.
• Oversee subcontracts and purchase orders; approve changes.
• Conduct weekly meetings and financial projections; manage payments.
