Caton Construction Group in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a seasoned Heavy Civil Project Manager to join our management team. The ideal candidate will manage heavy highway projects, lead multiple tasks, and ensure safety and quality while delivering on schedule and budget.

Responsibilities include planning civil construction projects, managing budgets and margins, developing schedules, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, coordinating with field management, and preparing project

Qualifications

• This position requires candidates with project management experience on civil heavy/highway projects.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and/or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years on civil heavy/highway projects is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and formulate civil construction projects according to requirements and standards.
• Manage project budgets and margins, submit cost/income projections, and respond to budget variances.
• Develop project schedules and keep timelines realistic for future work items.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with engineering principles and contract requirements.
• Maintain project-related documentation and prepare reports for upper management.
• Collaborate with field management to resolve issues between plan and site execution.
• Oversee subcontractors and supplier orders; approve changes as needed.
