Job summary

A2e Technologies seeks a Lead Hardware Engineer to design and bring up high-speed digital boards (>1GHz) with DDR, FPGAs and networking across multiple California locations and Virginia. You will use Altium for schematics and apply EMC, SI, and PI expertise to ensure robust hardware in challenging environments.

Responsibilities include test execution, test case generation, debugging and reporting, and applying verification methodologies relevant to space industry.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing high-speed digital boards (>1GHz) with DDR, FPGAs and networking.
  • Experience with schematic capture using Altium.
  • Knowledge of EMC mitigation techniques and testing.
  • Signal Integrity simulation experience.
  • Power Integrity simulation experience is a plus.
  • Some FPGA design experience and toolsets is a plus.
  • Bringing up circuit boards and test equipment usage.
  • Experience with test case generation, execution and reporting.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving to identify root causes.
  • Knowledge of verification methodologies relevant to aerospace/space.

Responsibilities

  • Design and bring up high-speed digital boards (>1GHz).
  • Prepare and verify PCB schematics (Altium) and layouts.
  • Perform signal and power integrity analysis and testing.
  • Develop test plans, execute tests and document results.
  • Debug and diagnose issues to root cause with traceability.
  • Apply verification methodologies for space-grade hardware.
