Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Pullman, WA is seeking a Lead Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of robust analog and digital circuits and oversee hardware project execution.
You will mentor engineers, coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing, perform design reviews, write specs and test plans, and contribute to system-level documentation and data sheets. This role requires US citizenship and hands-on prototyping experience with EMI/EMC considerations.

As a Lead Hardware Design Engineer, a typical day might include the following: Analyze, design, and develop conventional analog and digital circuits. Conduct moderate to complex design reviews to demonstrate product and circuit robustness. Develop hardware specifications and prepare system level specifications. Write and analyze test plans, executes tests and evaluates test results for use at peer design reviews and project notebooks. Prepare and maintain product documentation, including data sheets, instruction manuals, project notebooks, design and test documentation. Provide and maintain accurate project plans. Manage and/or lead hardware projects of moderate complexity. Coordinate engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing. Mentor and direct the efforts of engineers and technicians.

We anticipate filling this position as a Lead Hardware Engineer: $121,100 - $178,900. Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
