Job summary

The DM Burr Group is hiring for a Full Time Lead Groundskeeper in Troy, MI. The role oversees the grounds team, coordinates schedules, and ensures safe, efficient maintenance of outdoor facilities.

Responsibilities include inspecting grounds, supervising cleaning, snow removal, and basic equipment repairs, with a strong emphasis on safety and staff development. A valid driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Prior grounds experience required.
• GED/High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license (no restrictions) and clean driving history.
• Must pass a background check.
• Small engine repair experience is a plus.
• Management or leadership experience.
• Experience operating different types of ground equipment.
• Self-motivated with ability to lead a team.
• Maintain a positive attitude to support performance and productivity.
• Team aptitude and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage, supervise, and direct grounds team within the facility.
• Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing subordinate employees.
• Assign needed coverage and provide special instructions or assignments.
• Identify staff development and ensure training is obtained.
• Conduct inspections and address customer concerns.
• Maintain grounds including mowing, trimming, raking, planting, and weeding.
• Clean parking lots and driveways.
• Remove snow and spread sand/salt; expect overtime before/after shifts.
• Respond to scheduled and unscheduled emergencies.
• Set up and clean for outdoor and indoor athletic activities.
• Use approved cleaning and care methods; follow safety standards and OSHA rules.
• Perform or supervise minor repairs on grounds equipment; maintain records.
• Understand written/verbal tasks and delegate as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.
