Job summary

Midland Public Schools is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the District’s outdoor spaces across multiple sites in Midland, MI. The role involves operating heavy equipment, seasonal schedules, and adherence to safety and district policies.

Responsibilities include lawn and field maintenance, herbicide/pesticide applications, and basic facility upkeep. A CDL with air brake endorsement and pesticide license are preferred, with licensing support through the district if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class B with air brake endorsement preferred.
• Pesticide applicator license Category 3a preferred or must be acquired within nine months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, trimming, fertilizing, maintaining lawns, athletic fields, shrubbery and trees.
• Apply herbicides and pesticides.
• Repair and maintain fences, bleachers, playgrounds and equipment.
• Move district equipment and perform mail/warehouse duties as assigned.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment in the grounds department.
• Winter duties including snow removal.
