Job summary

City of Daphne, Alabama is seeking a maintenance/operator to perform equipment operation and manual labor for city streets, drainage, parks, and recreation facilities. The role includes monitoring inventory, transporting materials, and assisting in road construction and landscaping tasks.

Must be able to work outdoors and respond to emergencies when needed. Eligible employees receive benefits such as paid holidays, health/dental plans, and retirement services; CDL holders may receive hourly pay

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 1+ year experience in equipment operation or groundskeeping.
• Valid State of Alabama driver’s license.
• Experience operating city maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment and performs manual work for streets, drainage, parks, and recreation facilities.
• Checks inventory of equipment, tools, supplies and materials.
• Transports and loads materials and equipment.
• Performs road construction/maintenance tasks.
• Performs landscaping and groundskeeping duties.
• Operates various equipment and ensures safety.
• Responds to emergency calls during storms or emergencies.
• Coordinates with supervisor and staff to plan and complete work.
