Job summary

City of Dothan is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Operator to perform manual and semi-skilled work maintaining storm sewers, streets, and ROW. Work is under supervision with adherence to safety policies and city ordinances.

Responsibilities include laying pipe, digging trenches, mixing mortar and concrete, operating trucks, and safeguarding work zones. A valid driver's license and CDL are required within 120 days; physical ability and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard senior-high school or GED or equivalent.
• Six (6) months recent experience in underground utility work preferred.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within 120 days of hire; drug/alcohol testing per policy.

Responsibilities

• Lay pipe on grade for storm sewers and construct basins/curbs.
• Dig trenches, lay and join pipe, pour concrete.
• Operate dump truck and other equipment to haul materials.
