Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and ability to operate all mechanized equipment for groundskeeping (bobcats, roto-tillers, chainsaws, trimmers, sprayers, aerators, overseeders, lawn sweepers, sod cutters, pickup trucks).
• Ability to repair and maintain irrigation systems and components.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions; work well with diverse personnel.

Responsibilities

• Leads one of the grounds crews to ensure continued operations.
• Assists in chemical applications for insect and weed control per procedures.
• Cleans landscaped areas and related items to prevent flooding and hazards.
• Maintains grounds keeping equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Plants landscaping materials to protect against erosion and keep grounds attractive.
• Prepares grounds and athletic fields for assemblies, events, and athletic activities.
• Repairs irrigation systems and components to keep equipment in proper working order.
• Requests materials, supplies, equipment, and/or support personnel to complete assignments on time.
• Responds to safety/operational concerns by notifying appropriate personnel.
