Job summary

Henderson Scott US is seeking Multifamily Construction Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent for ground-up projects across the New York City metro area. This role supports on-site operations, coordinates subs, vendors, and schedule, and ensures safety and quality on active buildings.

Candidates with ground-up multifamily experience are strongly preferred. NYC DOB Superintendent license is a plus, but non-licensed candidates with strong field experience ready to grow will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial or residential construction, preferably ground-up multifamily.
• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or field supervisor.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, site safety, and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with or oversee daily on-site construction operations for multifamily residential projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and site logistics to maintain project schedules.
• Monitor construction progress, workmanship, and compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
• Enforce site safety standards and maintain an organized, safe working environment.
• Identify and resolve field issues, scheduling conflicts, and construction deficiencies.
• Track project milestones and communicate progress, delays, and site conditions to the project team.
• Assist with inspections, quality control, and project closeout activities as needed.
