Job summary

Actalent in Winchester, VA seeks a Project Manager for ground-up commercial construction projects in healthcare, K–12, higher education and living facilities. Lead CPM schedules (SD to CD) with lean principles, using Primavera P6 and BIM/VDC coordination to drive milestones and value.

Requires 5+ years in PM, 4+ years in PM role, OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR, and strong leadership of 5–10 staff across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in project management for commercial construction.
• 4+ years in a dedicated Project Manager role.
• Ground-up projects from $15M to $70M in value.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• First Aid/CPR certifications current.
• Ability to build CPM schedules from SD to CD.
• Strong Primavera P6 proficiency for scheduling.
• Experience explaining lean scheduling to subs/clients.
• Knowledge of Owner value, sequencing and lean planning.
• Experience using Last Planner and short interval plans.
• Familiarity with BIM models and VDC coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of ground-up projects from design through completion.
• Develop, update, and communicate CPM schedules using lean principles.
• Use Primavera P6 to show sequencing, milestones and critical paths.
• Explain lean scheduling concepts to subcontractors and clients.
• Apply Last Planner to pull plans and weekly work plans.
• Maintain Short Interval Production Schedules for on-site productivity.
• Develop recovery schedules to bring projects back on track.
• Pre-qualify subcontractors and conduct visits for performance.
• Coordinate digital and field mock-ups to validate design intent.
• Direct VDC needs and BIM coordination for clash detection.
• Lead lean budgeting and educate staff on budget vs. target costs.
• Oversee billings and closeout within 30 days of completion.
• Plan and lead large pre-construction meetings with owners and design teams.
• Assist with estimating, logistics, and staffing plans pre-bid.
• Supervise 5–10 staff across multiple projects and evaluate performance.
• Enforce safety standards per OSHA and company policy.
• Communicate with owners, design teams, and internal staff clearly.
• Monitor field progress, assess schedule waste, and improve processes.
• Ensure quality and adherence to project specs on healthcare and education projects.
