Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Palo Alto seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join the NBA Delivery Platform, driving scalable GraphQL services and platform modernization. You’ll lead architectural decisions, influence CI/CD, IaC patterns, and developer tooling across multiple teams.

You will mentor engineers, design observability standards, and partner with security and product teams to deliver reliable, high-performance software in a regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Proven leadership experience driving architectural decisions across teams.
• Proficiency in one or more scripting languages: TypeScript, Go, Python, or Rust.
• Deep hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code for multi-environment infra.
• Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and evolution of a highly scalable, reliable GraphQL platform across multiple teams.
• Drive platform strategy and technical roadmap balancing current needs with long-term scalability.
• Establish observability, monitoring, and alerting standards for proactive issue detection.
• Lead automation strategies for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
