Job summary

NCSL International is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join the golf course maintenance team. You will assist the Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day agronomic practices and clubhouse landscaping, ensuring turf quality and course presentation.

You will coordinate maintenance schedules, supervise grounds crew, monitor irrigation, and uphold safety and efficiency. A focus on budgeting, records, and stakeholder relations is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of turf grass management experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge of budgeting and expense management.
• Must possess basic computer skills - Word and Excel.
• Strong business aptitude and passion for golf business.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and supervising maintenance of tees, fairways, roughs, and greens; landscape care.
• Responsible for daily golf course set up and presentation; monitor irrigation and daily system audits.
• Schedule and supervise maintenance to optimize workers and equipment utilization.
• Supervise grounds crew operations with safety as a priority.
• Understand calibration and use of fertilizers, herbicides, pest control materials.
• Instruct equipment operators on mowing equipment; supervise pesticide applications.
• Prepare reports, maintain records, and manage relationships with industry professionals and members.
• Supervise pumps, wells, irrigation, RO water treatment, and drainage.
• May require state pesticide applicator certification.
• Assist in personnel management, payroll, and scheduling.
• Perform other duties as directed.
