Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking a Controls Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives across multiple sites.

You’ll spearhead PLC programming, HMI development, and electrical standards while supporting large capital projects and continuous improvement efforts. This role requires collaboration with plant teams, weekend/on-call capabilities, and a hands-on approach to advancing manufacturing technology.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering is required.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in automation engineering.
Strong organizational, computer, analytical, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Extensive knowledge of PLCs, motion control, HMIs, and electrical standards.

Responsibilities

Directs and supports electricians and plant staff in troubleshooting electrical problems.
Leads automation-related process improvements and capital projects.
Oversees electrical scope development, budgeting, bidding, installation, and commissioning.
Maintains electrical standards and best practices across divisions.
Drives process conformity and 24/7 manufacturing support, including on-call duties.
Collaborates with various teams to ensure safe and compliant operations.
