Job summary

Shaw Industries Ltd. seeks an experienced Automation Engineering Manager to lead and support automation across multiple yarn processing facilities. The role is based at a manufacturing plant in Aiken, SC, with responsibilities spanning PLC/HMI systems, cyber security, and data analytics, while coordinating with IT and operations teams.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage capital projects, and build strong vendor relationships to optimize uptime and product quality across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing systems support.
• Experience with Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting, Siemens HMI systems, industrial networking, and system integration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and IT.
• Experience managing vendor, OEM, and system integrator relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support for automation systems across multiple yarn manufacturing facilities.
• Manage Siemens PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems to ensure safe, reliable operations.
• Develop and execute automation strategies to improve uptime, quality, efficiency, and cybersecurity.
• Lead automation-related capital projects from concept to start-up, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Establish and maintain relations with OEMs, system integrators, automation suppliers, and robotics providers.
• Serve as liaison between Manufacturing, Engineering, and IT for plant automation, networking and data initiatives.
• Support manufacturing data collection, reporting, and analytics platforms for data-driven decisions.
• Mentor plant maintenance, engineering, and controls personnel.
