Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer for Plant 81 to support development and oversight of locally deployed process control solutions.

You will contribute to automation initiatives through data analysis, collaboration with automation teams, and learning diverse plant processes to drive improvements. The role requires PLC and HMI/SCADA experience, strong programming skills, and a bachelor’s or associate degree with hands-on automation expertise.

Qualifications

• Design, installation, and troubleshooting of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• HMI/SCADA experience (Ignition preferred).
• Industrial PC hardware/software in industrial environments.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree with 5+ years hands-on controls/automation experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Project management experience.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and off shift hours.
• Must be able to analyze equipment faults and identify root causes.
• Must implement solutions to resolve faults and prevent recurrence.
• Software development capabilities in Python, Java, C++.
• Maintain, install and troubleshoot electrical systems ensuring codes and safety standards.
