Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead AI Engineer for Gen AI Platform Services to advance Agentic AI, Agent Guardrails, Agent Evaluation, and Agent Memory. You will partner with engineers, researchers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered banking innovations and scalable AI infrastructure.

The role requires strong software engineering and AI fundamentals, hands-on development of LLMs and AI services, and a track record of deploying responsible AI at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a relevant field with required years of experience.
• 4+ years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including training, inference, guardrails, evaluation, governance and observability.
• Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, latency, and throughput.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
