Job summary

Capital One is hiring a Lead AI Engineer to build and scale AI foundations, GenAI platform, and LLM core components. You will work with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to deploy AI-powered banking solutions with guardrails and observability.

You will optimize training and inference, push state-of-the-art techniques, and contribute to the foundational AI roadmap while collaborating with partners across Capital One’s ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field plus AI/ML experience
• 4+ years programming in Python, Go, Scala or Java
• 6 years of experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies in production
• Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques for performance
• Contribute to long-term AI system roadmaps at Capital One
