Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is hiring a Lead Service Technician to maintain and service compression equipment across multiple sites. The role emphasizes independent work, safety, and customer relations, with significant field activity and on-call expectations.

The successful candidate will bring 4+ years of gas compression experience, CAT/Ariel/Cummins expertise, and strong mentoring abilities to develop Field Service Technicians while ensuring equipment uptime and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school certification, college degree or additional relevant experience.
• At least 4 years of gas compression experience with CAT, Ariel and/or Cummins preferred.
• CAT Gas Engine II, troubleshooting and electronics certifications; knowledge of CAT 3500/3600, ADEM 3/4, Ariel mechanics, Murphy panels a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to self-manage and work independently; supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, startup and repair of natural gas compression equipment with advanced diagnostic skills.
• Lead and mentor Field Service Technicians in technical skills and professionalism.
• Ensure run time of units per contractual agreements and deliver safe, quality service.
• Respond to customer inquiries promptly and coordinate with Area Service Manager.
• Operate company vehicle safely and maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
• Collaborate with sales to identify new service or equipment opportunities.
• Coordinate parts inventory with the parts department and utilize WMS effectively.
• Support recruiting and culture-building efforts within the team.
