Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking a Lead Service Technician to independently maintain and service natural gas compression equipment. The role includes mentoring Field Service Technicians, performing startup and major maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and contractual run-time requirements.

You will collaborate with the Area Service Manager, drive operational efficiency, support sales opportunities, and uphold a strong safety culture across diverse field locations.

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school certification, college degree or related field experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in gas compression, preferably with CAT, Ariel and/or Cummins.
• CAT Gas Engine II, Troubleshooting, Electronics certifications; CAT 3500, 3600, ADEM 3 and ADEM 4, Ariel Mechanics 1 and 2, Murphy panel a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record acceptable to USA Compression.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to self-manage with little supervision; supervisory experience is a plus.
• High degree of mechanical ability with electrical and gas compression knowledge.
• Ability to train and communicate technical and soft skills to FSTs.

Responsibilities

• Involved in start-ups, major maintenance, failures, overhauls and high-end diagnostic repair.
• Lead and mentor Field Service Technicians (FSTs) and facilitate their development.
• Ensure run time of natural gas compression units per contracts.
• Respond to customer inquiries and communicate with the Area Service Manager (ASM).
• Collaborate with the ASM for smooth Area operations.
• Operate company vehicle safely and maintain it.
• Identify new sales or service opportunities with the sales team.
• Coordinate parts inventory with the warehouse for each unit.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with safety policies.
• Assist in recruiting and building the USAC culture; supervise in ASM's absence.
• Follow company handbook and safety policies; perform other duties as assigned.
