Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to own the NBA platform’s orchestration and state machine, built in Node.js/TypeScript on Temporal.

You will lead a small team, drive durable workflows, and ensure reliable action delivery across member engagement channels. You will design end-to-end delivery, activate decisions to Adobe Experience Platform, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-scale solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant area.
• 6+ years of full-stack software engineering with 1–2 years in a tech-lead capacity.
• Strong Node.js/TypeScript backend experience.
• Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration platforms, Temporal preferred.
• Experience designing Kafka producer/consumer patterns.
• Ability to lead a small pod through delivery and be accountable for outcomes.
• Experience operating cloud-native systems on Azure with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery for the orchestration pod: planning, execution, quality, and shipping on time.
• Design and build durable, long-running Temporal workflows in Node.js/TypeScript.
• Own the end-to-end action delivery pipeline from decision publication through activation and receipt processing.
• Activate decisions to Adobe Experience Platform and publish via Kafka to downstream channels.
• Contribute code alongside the team, including Temporal workflows, Node.js services, and Kafka components.
• Make day-to-day architecture decisions for the pod, including retries and idempotency.
• Establish monitoring, tracing, and operational visibility across workflows and delivery pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and contractors; conduct code reviews and enforce standards.
• Coordinate interfaces with decisioning, activation systems, and platform teams.
