Job summary

Sherpa 6, Inc. is hiring a Lead Full Stack Engineer to own a greenfield application within the Maven Smart System ecosystem, serving senior DoW leaders at the Pentagon.

You will lead a small product squad, shape architecture from the first commit, and deliver user-facing features quickly with a direct line to the end users in the building. You will build robust front-end in React and scalable back-end services in Node.js/TypeScript backed by PostgreSQL, with strong emphasis on security,

Qualifications

• 6-10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years as a team lead or project tech lead.
• BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, observables, and data structuring.
• Node.js/TypeScript building REST APIs and understanding concurrency and API design.
• Frontend and backend build tools and package managers.
• HTML/CSS knowledge and responsive design.
• Strong collaborative, communication, and Scrum/Agile experience.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Tech lead for a product squad, directing technical direction, estimation, sprint planning, and on-time feature delivery.
• Implement scalable, secure, observable architectures (APIs, services, data models, caching, integrations).
• Build front-end in React and back-end services in Node.js/TypeScript with PostgreSQL.
• Model schemas, write optimized SQL, manage migrations, ensure data integrity.
• Develop and test software per specifications and designs.
• Decompose complex requirements into actionable development capabilities.
• Promote reusable software tools and domain-driven development.
• Ensure code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, and fault tolerant.
• Provide software process management and control throughout development.
