Job summary

Karsun Solutions is seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer to guide a 6-8 person team of developers and test automation engineers. You will collaborate with a Business Analyst and Product Lead to plan and execute agile development within a US government-focused environment.

You will drive hands-on development across the full lifecycle, leverage AI tools to boost productivity, and ensure high-quality, secure, scalable software delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-lifecycle application development and at least 3 years with the listed technologies and AWS cloud platform.
• Experience architecting and designing solutions and decomposing them into modules for development.
• 5+ years using Agile, DevSecOps, and Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Proficiency with Agile project management tools (JIRA) and CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test and deployment.
• Experience developing cloud-native solutions following industry best practices.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript (React.js, Node.js), API development (GraphQL/REST), messaging (Kafka, AWS Kinesis), serverless (AWS Lambda), SQL and NoSQL databases, and AWS services.
• Strong database skills, preferably MySQL.
• Familiarity with AI models, Agentic development and RAG concepts.
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, AWS Bedrock) to generate code and support testing.
• Ability to establish source control, branching, documentation, and peer review processes as if open source.
• Experience in release management processes and standards.
• Understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to demo products and collect feedback.
• Ability to mentor junior resources and review teammates' work products.
• U.S. government clearance eligibility is required.

• Lead an agile team of developers and test automation engineers and grow them into a high-performance team.
• Hands-on role across the full development lifecycle: design, develop, implement, test, maintain and enhance products.
• Leverage AI tools and technologies during development to boost productivity and efficiency.
• Ensure product quality and team performance meet standards.
• Provide technical direction and mentor teams on delivery workflows, templates, and best practices.
• Implement Agile and DevSecOps practices to deliver quality products reliably.
• Evaluate requirements, identify gaps/risks, and plan execution.
• Review proposed features for feasibility and effort estimation.
• Craft detailed application designs emphasizing standards, performance, scalability and security.
• Validate proposed architectures and solutions with stakeholders.
• Monitor product performance in production and optimize for scale.
• Track metrics (velocity, quality, usability) and drive improvements.
• Foster communities of practice to align strategies and architectures across teams.
• Stay updated on emerging tools and technologies for platforms and adoption recommendations.
• Maintain and extend skills through ongoing training and knowledge sharing.
• Advise senior management on improvement opportunities and roadmaps.
• Support developers with documentation, training, and mentoring.
