Job summary

Deep Science Ventures seeks an exceptional formulation chemist to own formulation development and translate the technology from bench to a scalable agricultural product. You will design strategies and personally execute experiments in the lab, advancing toward pilot scale.

You will work with cutting-edge controlled-release coatings, biopolymers, and DoE-driven optimization, collaborating with the founding team to shape technical strategy and potential founder-level equity pathways.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent depth in Chemistry or related field.
• Significant R&D experience developing formulations/coatings from bench to pilot scale.
• Deep expertise in controlled-release formulation/coating systems for fertilisers or agricultural inputs.
• Hands-on experience with coating processes (fluid-bed) and understanding of film properties and dissolution kinetics.
• Experience with biopolymers or polymer modification; relevant analytical techniques (NMR, titration).
• DoE applied to multi-parameter formulation or coating optimization using JMP/Design-Expert/Minitab/R.

Responsibilities

• Own formulation development and translate technology from bench to scalable product.
• Define fertiliser formulation and coating strategy and execute experiments at bench.
• Design/iterate coating systems based on release kinetics, performance, manufacturability and cost of goods.
• Take formulations to pilot scale and identify critical technical risks.
• Define product specs that are technically robust and commercially viable.
• Design rigorous DoE experiments to optimize multi-parameter systems and establish lab capabilities.
