Job summary

Deep Science Ventures is seeking an exceptional formulation chemist to join a new venture at the intersection of crop nutrition and weed control. You will own formulation development and coating strategies, translating biology into a scalable agricultural product and executing experiments in the lab toward pilot scale.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent depth in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Biochemistry or related field.
• Industry R&D experience in formulations or coatings from bench to pilot scale.
• Experience with controlled-release formulation/coatings in fertilisers or agricultural inputs.
• Hands-on experience with fluid-bed coating or similar coating processes.
• DoE applied to multi-parameter formulation or coating optimisation using JMP/Design-Expert/Minitab/R.

Responsibilities

• Define the fertiliser formulation and coating strategy and personally execute experimental work at the bench.
• Design and iterate coating systems based on release kinetics, biological performance, manufacturability and cost of goods.
• Take formulations from bench towards pilot scale, identifying risk and scale-up challenges.
• Define product specifications that are technically robust and commercially viable.
• Design rigorous experiments and use DoE/data-driven approaches to optimise multi-parameter formulation systems.
