Job summary

Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) invites applications for a Supervising Clinician in the Forensic Services Unit at SWCMHS in Bridgeport. The role leads clinical operations, schedules staff, and drives service delivery to support safe, coordinated care in a forensic psychiatric setting.

The position emphasizes staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and collaboration with internal units and community partners.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of professional health care experience in a psychiatric setting.
• Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been at a lead level coordinating the work of a unit or team of professionals in a psychiatric setting.
• Master's Degree may substitute for one additional year of General Experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, assigns and oversees staff work.
• Assists in developing unit goals and objectives.
• Assists in recruitment, selection, training and development of staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations.
• Determines priorities and plans, coordinates and supervises unit activities.
• Develops relationships with community representatives and staff.
• Assists in improving client care and coordinating services.
