Job summary

DMHAS seeks an Assistant Medical Director to lead clinical administration at Whiting Forensic Hospital in Middletown, CT. The role oversees a maximum security unit and reports to the Chief Medical Officer, with hazardous duty expectations.

The position requires Connecticut medical licensure, board certification in psychiatry (or equivalent in internal/family medicine), and eligibility for federal health care programs. Full-time, first shift.

Qualifications

• Must possess a license to practice medicine and surgery in Connecticut.
• Must possess and retain certification as a psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology OR certification in internal medicine, family medicine or related specialty.
• Must maintain eligibility for participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7b(f).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Whiting Maximum Security Unit as Assistant Medical Director.
• Report to the hospital's Chief Medical Officer.
