S.E.T., Inc. seeks a hands‑on Foreman to lead a crew on heavy highway and civil projects across Ohio and Western PA. This role may be union or non‑union, depending on the project and assignment.

You will direct field crews, read plans, enforce safety, and coordinate with the Superintendent and Project Manager. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy civil construction, strong leadership, and experience with field reporting via tablet or smartphone.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in heavy highway or civil construction; lead‑hand or foreman experience preferred.
• Ability to read plans, cut sheets, and grade stakes; catch errors.
• Strong leadership, clear communication, and safety enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily work of crew of laborers and/or equipment operators; assign tasks and sequencing.
• Read plans, specs, and grade information; coordinate with surveyors and engineers.
• Enforce safety program in field; daily huddles, PPE compliance, and immediate correction of hazards.
• Track daily production, materials usage, equipment hours, and crew time; complete daily reports.
• Coordinate with Superintendent and Project Manager on schedule, manpower, and deliveries.
• Communicate with subcontractors, utility companies, and inspectors on site.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate crew; address performance and conduct issues.
• Maintain quality control to meet specs and pass inspections first time.
• Secure tools, equipment, and materials; keep site organized.
