Job summary

S.E.T., Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to own field execution on one or more active projects in Ohio and Western PA. You will manage field schedules, safety programs, and coordination with the Project Manager on budget and subcontractor management.

The role requires leading Foremen and crews, ensuring contract specs and QA/QC compliance, and maintaining strong owner/engineer relationships on busy civil sites. Travel between sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in heavy highway or civil construction
• Experience managing multiple crews and trades on active road/civil projects
• Strong knowledge of DOT specifications and prevailing wage rules
• Ability to build and hold a project schedule
• Budget and cost-control experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and travel between sites

Responsibilities

• Own the overall field schedule and sequencing of work across crews and subcontractors
• Supervise multiple foremen and crews across trades
• Partner with the Project Manager on budget, procurement, and subcontractor management
• Lead the site safety program and enforce company safety policies
• Ensure work meets contract specs and inspections
• Serve as field point of contact for owners, engineers, and inspectors
• Oversee material and equipment logistics and coordination with Field Support & Logistics
• Maintain daily reports, production tracking, and schedule updates using scheduling software
• Manage manpower planning and staffing to meet the schedule
• Mentor Foremen and enforce standards across the project
• Participate in pre-construction planning and schedule development
