The Pavilion at Queens for Rehabilitation & Nursing in Flushing, Queens, NY seeks an experienced Food Service Director to oversee the dietary department of a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. The role focuses on menu planning, staff supervision, budgeting, and regulatory compliance to deliver high-quality resident dining experiences.

The ideal candidate will have LTC experience, CDM certification, strong leadership, and a proven track record of maintaining safety standards and cost

Qualifications

• CDM certification preferred/required.
• Long-term care (LTC) experience required.
• Strong knowledge of DOH regulations and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dietary operations, including food preparation and meal service.
• Coordinate menus and ensure proper portion sizes and special dietary needs are met.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable DOH, state, and federal regulations and food safety standards.
• Monitor sanitation and cleanliness of kitchens, food storage areas, coolers, freezers, and equipment.
• Manage inventory, purchasing, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies within budget.
• Schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate Dietary Department staff.
• Manage departmental labor and food costs.
• Develop and maintain food service policies and procedures.
