Job summary

Dessert Holdings in Aurora, CO is seeking a Production Lead to oversee safe, quality-focused manufacturing operations for desserts. You will supervise a team, ensure compliance with SQF/HACCP/GMP, and manage line setup, changeovers, and production documentation to meet daily goals.

The role emphasizes coaching, training, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading manufacturing teams or production lines.
• Ability to read and communicate in English and Spanish.
• Proficient with batch sheets, formulas, and specifications.
• Basic operation and frontline troubleshooting of line equipment.
• Strong verbal communication; ability to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety rules, wear PPE, and conduct start-of-shift safety checks.
• Hold production for safety hazards and notify supervision of issues.
• Report incidents and manage maintenance requests until resolved.
• Coach and train employees on safe work practices and trainings.
• Maintain SQF, HACCP, GMP compliance and allergen controls.
• Perform quality checks: weights, temps, labels, lot codes, visuals.
• Verify batch sheets, formulas, raw materials, and traceability at start-up.
• Escalate quality or safety issues and manage rework actions.
• Lead 10-40 employees to meet hourly/daily goals with minimal waste.
• Ensure staffing coverage and coordinate shift handoffs and breaks.
• Train and cross-train staff; certify task qualifications.
• Set up lines for standard configurations and smooth changeovers.
• Maintain real-time production records in D365 and KPI boards.
• Monitor KPIs: efficiency, throughput, waste, downtime; escalate as needed.
• Operate line equipment and perform basic troubleshooting; request maintenance when needed.
• Submit maintenance tickets for equipment or safety issues.
• Maintain housekeeping and GMP standards; support 5S and CI efforts.
• Communicate priorities and issues to supervision for corrective actions.
