Castelion is seeking a Lead Flight Software Engineer to spearhead the architecture and delivery of mission-critical embedded software for the flight vehicle stack. You will work with the Head of Flight Software to define architecture, drive technical direction, and ensure reliable software delivery.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate cross-functional teams, and lead software integration across virtualized environments and hardware-in-the-loop tests in a fast-moving hardware-software

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or a related STEM field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in embedded software or real‑time systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Rust, or similar systems programming languages.
• Experience developing software on Linux‑based embedded platforms, including kernel‑level work or custom driver development (UART, I2C, SPI).
• Experience leading technical projects, architecting complex systems, or serving as a team or technical lead.
• Strong debugging skills across hardware/software boundaries.

Responsabilidades

• Architecture & Technical Leadership: Define system architecture, software design patterns, module interfaces, and long‑term technical strategy across embedded systems, drivers, simulation, and application layers.
• Embedded Software Development: Design, implement, and integrate embedded software for Linux‑based and real‑time systems; own subsystems from concept to flight testing.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as day‑to‑day technical lead; mentor engineers, review designs and code, and guide implementation approaches.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with avionics, hardware, simulation, and test teams to align software with system requirements.
• System Integration & Testing: Lead integration across virtualized environments, hardware‑in‑the‑loop, and full vehicle setups; develop testing tools and models.
• Project Ownership & Delivery: Own major technical initiatives; coordinate resources, manage risks, and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Quality, Standards & Continuous Improvement: Improve code quality, review processes, and testing rigor.
