Job summary

Castelion seeks a Lead Flight Software Engineer to guide the embedded software strategy for mission-critical systems. You will work with the Head of Flight Software to define architecture, drive design choices, and ensure reliable delivery across vehicle stacks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as CS, CE, EE or math.
• 7+ years of embedded software or real-time systems experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Rust or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture and long-term technical strategy for embedded software.
• Design, implement and integrate embedded software for Linux-based, real-time systems.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and guide implementation approaches.
• Coordinate with avionics, hardware, and test teams to align software efforts.
• Lead software integration, testing, and root-cause analysis across hardware–software interfaces.
• Own major technical initiatives and ensure on-time delivery of mission-critical software.
