Job summary

Castelion is hiring a Lead Flight Software Engineer in Rio Rancho, NM. You will define system architecture, guide embedded software across the vehicle stack, and own subsystems from concept through flight testing.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and set the technical tempo in a fast-moving hardware‑software environment. You will lead deep technical work on Linux-based platforms, real-time systems, and drivers, while driving reliability, performance, and integration

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or related STEM field.
7+ years of professional embedded software or real-time systems experience.
Strong proficiency in C++, Rust, or similar systems programming languages.
Experience on Linux-based embedded platforms and driver development.
Experience leading technical projects or teams.

Responsibilities

Define architecture and set technical direction for embedded software across vehicle stack.
Lead and mentor the embedded software team, review designs and code.
Own subsystems from concept through flight testing and integration.
Coordinate with avionics, hardware, and simulation teams for system alignment.
Drive testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis in real-time environments.
Ensure on-time delivery of mission-critical software and quality standards.
