Job summary

Capgemini, based in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking an Operability Engineer – Lead to coordinate fleet operations and vehicle-software activities, including software updates, deployments, and release validation. You will monitor vehicle readiness, escalate issues, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 6+ years in automotive fleet or related fields, demonstrated leadership, and advanced troubleshooting using CAN tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of automotive fleet, vehicle operability, validation, or embedded-software experience.
• Experience leading complex technical activities, coordinates cross-functional stakeholders, manages escalations and drives issues through resolution/closure.
• Demonstrated leadership of fleet operations, vehicle-software updates, deployment coordination, and release validation.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis capability using vehicle diagnostics and CAN tools.
• Experience leading quality investigations, issue triage, escalation, containment, and corrective-action closure.
• Ability to define readiness criteria, analyze fleet trends, and communicate status and risk to stakeholders.
• Experience supporting proving-ground activities, audit evidence, and process improvement.
• Nice to have experience with OTA campaign planning, software configuration management, or release governance.
• Knowledge of telematics, backend logs, UDS/DoIP, or ECU flashing.
• Experience building automated readiness reporting or using formal methods such as 8D, five whys, or fault-tree analysis.
