Job summary

TFI International’s Dundee, MI location is seeking a Lead Maintenance Mechanic to lead our fleet maintenance team. You’ll perform advanced repairs, mentor technicians, and ensure shop operations run smoothly while upholding safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in fleet maintenance, strong diesel, electrical, hydraulic knowledge, DOT compliance, and a technical certification. HS diploma required; willingness to train others and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of fleet maintenance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, air brakes, and emissions control systems.
• Strong proficiency with DOT regulations and compliance standards.
• TIA Certification or other relevant technical certification preferred.
• HS diploma, GED

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure smooth shop operations.
• Perform all maintenance tasks, complex repairs, and inspections as conducted by Technicians.
• Mentor and train technicians, promoting skill development, safety, and collaboration.
• Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
• Ensure all fleet maintenance activities comply with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Document maintenance, repairs, and inspections accurately and timely.

Major Areas of Responsibility Include:

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure smooth shop operations.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support overall fleet reliability.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• 4+ years of fleet maintenance experience.

• Strong proficiency with DOT regulations and compliance standards

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday
